The year was 1970. We lived at Korle Bu, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. I was seven years old, and always wondered the significance of Dad rising up early at dawn. I still vividly recollect that Dad had disciplined himself religiously for that matutinal rise, unbeknown to me, making it his most creative time of the day.
Many years on, I now do know the reason why. Two of these short stories - The History Behind The Customs and The Price Of Healing were penned in that time capsule while the other ten stories were coined before I was born.
I admire Dad’s discipline, tenacity and creativity, one of the by products being this masterpiece.
